This event is the European Union international Day against Human Trafficking which was marked by Hope for Healthy Life Foundation (HohLiF)It's one of the ALPA's partner institutions in Nigeria, as non- governmental and nonprofit making organisation in Taraba State, Nigeria, West Africa.

The EU Day against Human Trafficking was established in 2007 and is marked on October 18th every year. It is meant to raise awareness on trafficking in human beings and improve the exchange of information, knowledge and best practice among the different actors working in thus field.

In April 2021, the European Commission adopted a new EU strategy on combatting Trafficking in Human beings (2021-2025). The initiative provide for a comprehensive response to the crime of Human trafficking, from preventing, protecting, and empowering victims to bringing traffickers to Justice.

Hope for Healthy Life Foundation (HohLiF) in collaboration with some colleagues marked the EU anti trafficking Day by mobilising community to raise awareness about the evils of Human Trafficking and reinforcing the tools needed to fight the scourge of Trafficking in Human beings.

Trafficking in Human beings also help in spreading viral hepatitis across the globe. As the missing millions are trafficked, they carry the virus along to their new destinations and giving rise to new infections. HohLiF also informed the community about the need to stay safe from the COVID-19 and observe all protocols as it can also be co-infected with viral hepatitis.
