 Al Maktoum Foundation UAE grants honorary shield to Dr Gamal Shiha

Professor Gamal Shiha, Chairman of the African Liver Patients Association -ALPA, received an honorary shield from Al Maktoum Foundation UAE, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, in recognition of his efforts in charitable work over the past 23 years through the establishment of the Association of Liver Patients Care -ALPC and the Egyptian Liver Hospital with view to fight viral hepatitis, treat liver and digestive system tumors and provide treatment to patients who cannot afford it.
During his visit to the Egyptian Liver Hospital, Dr Salah Al-Jaafrawi, Al Maktoum Representative in Egypt, praised the great capabilities of the Hospital and the significant efforts made by Dr Gamal Shiha and his distinguished medical team, providing treatments to patients who do not have the means to pay for medical services. He also commended the high level of medical services provided to patients in the Liver Research Institute and Hospital in the areas of diagnosis and treatment of various liver diseases such as viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver, liver tumors resections with thermal frequency technology and hepatic arterial injection, in addition to performing various liver and digestive surgeries, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopes, and colon and pancreatic tumor surgeries on an international standard.
Dr Salah Al-Jaafrawi also said that the Egyptian Liver Hospital matches international medical institutions in terms of quality, professionalism and great efficiency, noting as well the distinguished level of the nursing teams and graduates of the Technical Nursing Institute in Shirbin, affiliated to the ALPC.
In the same vein, Mirza Al Sayegh, Office Manager of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during a phone call with Dr. Gamal Shiha, conveyed the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum to Professor Dr Gamal Shiha and his staff, praising the efforts carried out at the Liver Center in providing free of charge treatments to tens of thousands of patients who cannot afford it.
For his part, Prof. Dr Gamal Shiha thanked H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, Patron of Al Maktoum Foundation, for the visit made by Professor Salah Al-Jaafrawi, Al Maktoum Representative in Egypt, to review the services that the Association of Liver Patients Care in Dakahlia and the Egyptian Liver Hospital in Shirbin provide to patients for free.
