Egypt’s Health Minister pledges medical support for South Sudan to combat Hepatitis C, B viruses, COVID-19 

 Egypt’s Minister of Health, Hala Zayed,met her South Sudanese counterpart, Elizabeth Achuei, in the capital of South Sudan Juba on Wednesday.

During the meeting, and under the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Zayed pledged further medical support for South Sudan. The medical aid will be used to combat the Hepatitis C and B viruses, as well as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
 
The two ministers inspected several medical centres in the country, including the Egyptian Kidney and Dialysis Center, and Juba Teaching Hospital (JTH).
 
Zayed arrived in Juba with an Egyptian delegation headed by the Chief of General Intelligence Services Abbas Kamel.
 
Kamel and Zayed were accompanied by South Sudanese officials as they inaugurated the new Egyptian Medical Center in Juba. The centre’s opening was welcomed by both citizens and officials of South Sudan.
