In celebration of World Hepatitis Day

The Egyptian Association of Liver Patients Care (ALPC), chaired by Professor / Gamal Shiha -Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALPC, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Liver Hospital and founding member of the African Liver Patients’ Association (ALPA)- participated in the annual commemoration of the World Hepatitis Day on July 28, 2020. Professor Shiha pointed out that the goal of commemorating this day was to enhance public awareness about the seriousness of viral hepatitis, in order to fight and eliminate this disease through awareness-raising.

The World Hepatitis Day 2020 was celebrated in the Egyptian Liver Hospital of Dakahlia. Since the theme for 2020 is "Finding the Missing Millions”, the event focused on the nurses, with increasing awareness of finding the missing cases as well as of behaviors that cause the outbreak of viral hepatitis.

Today's activities included :
- Sharing flyers and posters of the Global Hepatitis Alliance after drawing up our own messages on preventive methods.
- Distributing promotional T-shirts with the WHO logo printed on them.
- Providing awareness of recommended behaviors to fight hepatitis in order to break the social stigma caused by this disease.
